Perfumers Jean-Christophe Herault and Olivier Polge look back to an authentic recollection of the past in Oriental Express and deliver a powdery smoky aromatic vibe in which basil – as the key element of the top notes – is entirely surrendered to a smoldering impact of vanilla, sandalwood, and amber accord. A touch of iris and carrot seed without getting too much in any aspect brings the composition to an upper level in which the smell of powder merges with a soil-like dryness, and makes a piquant zest out of basil. Oriental Express is a wearable and handy perfume for cold weather. A perfume that gives it all without offending anyone.
