Elixir of Love by Caswell Massey is a Floral fragrance for Women.
We formulated Elixir of Love from a Victorian-era recipe found in our archives. During those times, it was considered tasteless to wear a strong scent, so most women’s fragrances were light and floral. “A perfume should be so delicate, so daintily used, and so lingeringly fragrant that no one could define it as anything but the ghost of a sweet scent, a faint, clinging memory of sweetness,” wrote etiquette expert Martha Louise Rayne in 1881. Good advice, Martha. She’d surely approve of Elixir of Love—sweet and feminine, yet entirely modern, a classic that remains alluring to this day.
